The former Edgewood Bakery, which still retains its signs despite having been closed for eight years, is for sale again.
Prior to its closing in March 2016, Edgewood Bakery had been a mainstay in Jacksonville since 1947, according to previous Times-Union reporting. It was later the site of a legal battle in 2014 when Jaguars owner Shad Khan sued for full ownership.
The property, at 1012 Edgewood Ave. S., includes about 5,700 square feet of restaurant space and an additional 1,500 square feet in a second building on the 0.71-acre plot of land in Murray Hill.

It was listed for sale in late January with an asking price of $1.7 million.
In 2016, the bakery was sold by Khan’s investment firm, Stache Investments, for $700,000 to Jacksonville restaurateur John Valentino, who owns Legacy Restaurant Group. The group includes Burrito Gallery, several Jacksonville-area Mellow Mushroom locations, Uptown Market and French Pantry.
