An Old Florida FBI Office Will Become 800 Apartments, Including Affordable Housing

If you are a current Floridian, you know that Florida has a current shortage of affordable housing. As a result, some cities are using creative solutions to create more access to housing. For example, I’ve written about an old Florida Sears potentially becoming apartments as well as a Florida Costco being built with apartments. And now – a former FBI office in Jacksonville’s Arlington may join the list for creative housing solutions.

Details About The Development: Developer Marc Kozman has reportedly been working with Jacksonville’s Arlington neighborhood to turn 16 acres of property (which includes former buildings belonging to the FBI and Offshore Power Systems) into 800 apartments spread out over six buildings. The project will reportedly include some affordable housing and site plans were filed in late June of 2024.

The property in question is located along the Arlington Expressway. The new apartments are expected to include a clubhouse, amenity center, pickleball courts, and areas to walk dogs.
