Jaspreet Kondal of St. Augustine and Sahana Chokshi of Jacksonville are playing at a high level on the Florida Junior Tour.
Their recent run of solid golf has resulted in both winning on the same day at the FJT Highlands Ridge 54-hole Major at the Avon Park course, with Chokshi winning the girls division in record-setting fashion.
Chokshi, a sophomore at Episcopal, eagled the par-5 18th hole at Highlands Ridge in all three rounds, added another eagle in the second round at No. 7, and broke the FJT 54-hole record in a girls 13-15 tournament at 13-under-par 203, winning by four shots over Iris Lee of Orlando.
Chokshi shot 66 in the second round and closed with a 69 in winning her first FJT event. She’s been trending, with four top-five finishes in five FJT starts this year. She had six top-10s in seven starts last year.
Kondal, a sophomore at Beachside, had to battle uphill for his second FJT title. He struggled with a 77 in the first round and was eight shots behind leader Dylan Mason of Ponte Vedra Beach.
