Adventure Landing amusement, water park saved from demolition (again) with lease extension

Adventure Landing has gotten another reprieve from closure.

The popular family-oriented Jacksonville Beach amusement and water park will remain open through 2025 allowing it to celebrate its 30th anniversary after receiving an extension of its lease, Adventure Landing officials announced Monday in a news release.

“The Adventure Landing team is dedicated to exploring future opportunities to expand our presence in the Jacksonville area, including plans to develop another water park location. We are committed to remaining a beloved fixture in the community and to carrying forward our legacy of providing family-friendly entertainment,” officials said in the news release.

The lease extension is the latest since the property at 1944 Beach Blvd. was sold for $7.87 million in Feb. 2021 to a developer planning to replace the amusement park with a 415-unit luxury apartment complex.

Opened in 1995, Adventure Landing features Shipwreck Island water park, a go-kart track, an arcade, laser tag, miniature golf, batting cages and a youth roller coaster.
