A 6-month-old St. Augustine girl was found safe after Amber Alert activated Sunday morning

An abducted 6-month-old St. Augustine girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert early Sunday was found safe, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said the child had been taken from a home in northwest St. Johns County.

A 22-year-old man suspected of abducting her has been taken into custody, the Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook page.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued the Amber Alert about 7:15 a.m. Sunday saying that she had been abducted and possibly was in Jacksonville.

The Sheriff’s Office posted at 8:42 a.m. on its Facebook page that she had been found.

Information about where she was found and the circumstances of the case was not immediately available.
