Fast food may be a convenient and sometimes affordable option, but one Florida McDonald’s recently discovered that convenience doesn’t excuse cleanliness violations. The McDonald’s located at 462570 E SR 200 in Yulee was temporarily shut down after a state inspection revealed concerning health code violations.
Health Code Violations and Temporary Closure
On October 25, 2024, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation conducted a routine inspection at the Yulee McDonald’s. During this inspection, three violations were documented, leading to the restaurant’s temporary closure. Violations included a “basic” violation for dead roaches and two high-priority violations for live flies and live roaches on the premises. Due to the severity of these issues, the location was immediately shut down to address the concerns.
The restaurant was given the opportunity to rectify the issues and, following a reinspection on October 26th, it was allowed to reopen after meeting the necessary health and safety standards.
