Checkers set to open new restaurant with new design in Jacksonville

Known for its double drive-thru as well as freshly made burgers, seasoned fries and milkshakes, a Tampa-based restaurant chain is getting ready to open its eighth Jacksonville restaurant.

Checkers aims to open Dec. 31 at 9555 Normandy Blvd. near Herlong Recreational Airport on the Westside ― debuting its new modular prototype, stand-alone drive-thru restaurant, a company spokesperson told the Times-Union.

The restaurant is the second in the Jacksonville market owned and operated by local entrepreneur Pritesh Patel, who has opened a total of four, according to a Checkers and Rally’s of Jacksonville news release.

“The modular buildout allowed us to bring this exciting concept to life quickly and efficiently,” Patel said in the news release. “This new location not only provides an opportunity to serve delicious food but also to create local jobs and build meaningful connections within our city.”

The modular design complements the iconic double drive-thru “ensuring quick and efficient service for customers, according to company officials.
