United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced today that Zevion La’Quawn Collins , 30, of Jacksonville, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of pure methamphetamine. Collins faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in federal prison, with the possibility of life imprisonment. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
According to court documents, between April 2023 and his arrest on June 17, 2024, Collins distributed methamphetamine, cocaine base (crack), and marijuana in Jacksonville. Federal agents monitored Collins over several months, observing him conduct multiple drug transactions, including selling one to two ounces of pure methamphetamine on six different occasions.
On June 17, 2024, federal agents executed a search warrant at Collins’ stash house on Ken Knight Drive in Jacksonville, arresting Collins on federal drug charges. During the search, agents seized approximately $4,970 in U.S. currency and a loaded Glock .40 caliber pistol.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Aakash Singh.
