Bucs’ Standout Coordinator Reported Top Target for AFC Head Coach Vacancy

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers identified the perfect candidate to step in and lead their offense after Dave Canales left to become the head coach of the Carolina Panthers last offseason. Liam Coen stepped into his first offensive coordinator job at the NFL level and helped the Bucs’ surge to the top of the league’s offensive ranks.

Coen maintained the team’s high-octane passing game even with Chris Godwin missing the majority of the season after dislocating his ankle. Under his tutelage, Baker Mayfield pieced together the best single-season campaign of his career.
