Jacksonville, FL – Showers and thunderstorms are tapering off across Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, with the heaviest rainfall moving offshore into the Atlantic, according to the National Weather Service office in Jacksonville, Fla.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jacksonville reports that cloudy skies have limited severe storm activity, though parts of the Suwannee Valley and western Southeast Georgia experienced heavier rain earlier today.
New storm activity has developed along I-95 and US-17, with isolated strong storms possible, bringing wind gusts up to 40 mph. Rainfall totals have reached 2-3 inches in areas like Gilchrist, Alachua, and western Marion counties. Overnight, patchy fog and low stratus clouds are expected, particularly west of the St. Johns River.…
