JACKSONVILLE, FLA – A Tornado Watch was issued for parts of North Florida and Georgia.
The Tornado Watch is in effect until 6 p.m. for the following areas:
- North Florida
- Southern and Southeast Georgia
- Southern South Carolina
- Nearby coastal waters

- A few tornadoes are possible this afternoon.
- Damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph could occur in some of the stronger storms.
What this means
This isn’t a tornado warning yet, but conditions are favorable for storms that could produce tornadoes and strong winds. The atmosphere is unstable and very supportive of dangerous storms.
