Severe Thunderstorm Risk For North Florida Wednesday

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe weather outlook for North Florida due to the potential for severe thunderstorms that are expected to impact northeast Florida on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

Afternoon and Evening Hours

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville forecasts isolated strong to severe thunderstorms along the US-301 corridor to the beaches, with hazards including 40-60 mph wind gusts, pea to quarter-sized hail, and lightning.

The greatest chances of storms will be from 2 p.m. through late evening.

The shaded area on the map, indicating the severe thunderstorm risk zone, includes the following Florida cities:

  • Jacksonville
  • Jacksonville Beach
  • Palatka
  • Palm Coast
