Jacksonville Man Arrested in Flagler County After Tossing Drugs During Traffic Stop

A Jacksonville man was arrested on Friday night, May 16, after Flagler County deputies observed him throwing a bag of marijuana from his vehicle during a traffic stop.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with illegal window tint. Before the vehicle came to a complete stop, deputies witnessed one of the occupants discard a clear bag from the passenger-side window. The bag was retrieved and later confirmed to contain marijuana. Inside the vehicle, deputies also discovered a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue tucked under the driver’s seat cover.

Through their investigation, deputies identified the driver, 46-year-old Michael Brown of Jacksonville, Florida, as the individual who threw the bag of marijuana. Brown was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana (20 grams or less), possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia…
