Jacksonville, FL – Rounds of rain are on the way as a cold front slowly moves across the area. Afternoon heating and the Gulf Coast sea breeze will bring additional instability to the thunderstorms. Strong to isolated severe storms will be possible. Locally heavy rainfall, hail and gusty wind will remain the main threats as the storms build across our western counties and then travel east, northeast. With a weak Atlantic breeze, there will be a better chance of storms lingering near and along I-95 and the beaches through late tonight.
Friday will bring more of the same with an earlier start along the Gulf Coast with showers reaching I-75 from late morning through early afternoon. Strong to isolated severe storms will be possible. Rain with thunderstorms will continue overnight and early Saturday.
Saturday will start with some showers followed by clearing skies and cooler afternoon temperatures. Sunny skies will wrap up the weekend with near seasonal temperatures…
