About 60 cars remain in structurally compromised areas of the JAX hourly garage 2 weeks after fire, officials say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two weeks after a devastating fire broke out in the hourly parking garage at the Jacksonville International Airport, dozens of cars remained in structurally compromised areas and could not be removed.

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority said on Friday that approximately 60 cars were still parked in inaccessible areas on the third and fourth floors and “cannot be removed at this time.”

The JAA also said the inaccessible area on the third floor of the parking garage was decreased on Thursday, allowing them to safely relocate approximately 47 additional cars…
