Jacksonville man sentenced to life for murder he was linked to through stolen Xbox

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man has been sentenced to life in prison on charges of second-degree murder and dealing in stolen property after he killed a man and stole his Xbox, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. He had already previously robbed the victim and stolen his previous Xbox.

James Conyers, 45, was arrested for the 2023 murder of 28-year-old Terrill Trumble after trying to sell items stolen from Trumble’s apartment on the day of his death. These included a shotgun, a laptop and an Xbox.

Trumble was found dead in his apartment when a friend came to check on him. The friend found Trumble on the bathroom floor in a pool of blood. He also noticed that the Xbox was missing, which he told police…
