City of Jacksonville reveals the 17 candidates for next JFRD chief

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The city of Jacksonville shared with First Coast News Wednesday a list of 17 candidates for the next chief of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

A spokesperson for the city said there were a total of 29 applicants vying to lead the fire department, but 12 of them were deemed ineligible. The spokesperson explained that the 17 candidates meet “basic criteria,” including the requirement that they are currently serving at JFRD.
