Authorities are investigating a serious incident involving a pedestrian struck by a train on a railroad trestle spanning the St. Marys River between Charlton County, Georgia, and Nassau County, Florida.
According to Charlton County Sheriff Robert Phillips, 32-year-old Chelsea Crews of Folkston was reportedly walking southbound across the trestle from the Charlton side when a train approached. Crews was struck by the train and thrown against the trestle structure, suffering serious injuries.
Emergency crews from Charlton EMS and Sgt. Wyatt Garvin responded to the scene. Due to difficult terrain, they transported Crews by truck to a waiting ambulance. She was then taken to Shands Jacksonville for treatment. Her current condition has not been released…
