‘Be your own bartender’: New gastropub brings 80 self-serve taps to downtown Jacksonville

Featuring a self-serve tap wall with multiple craft beers, specialty cocktails, and select wines plus elevated pub fare and 17 HD televisions for sports fans, a first-of-its-kind gastropub is making itself at home in downtown Jacksonville.

Highly anticipated Pour Taproom — boasting 80 taps — has been in the soft opening process since June 6 at 61 N. Laura St. on the VyStar Credit Union campus, offering some “dry runs and sneak peeks.” A grand opening date is still pending.

“We’re really trying not to open too early. It’s a new concept here, not only for Jacksonville, but for our employees, because we are not a traditional restaurant,” owner/operator Tony Draper told the Times-Union amid the trial runs. “So there is an educational process not only from the guest experience but also with our staff. And if we come too early out of the gate, we’re going to crash and burn.”…
