In the wake of a tragedy that grasped Jacksonville over the weekend, police have promptly apprehended a suspect connected to a double homicide. Early Saturday morning, officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) were dispatched to the 9500 block of Baymeadows Road after reports of a shooting. They found two individuals with gunshot wounds, according to details shared by the JSO’s official news release.
The scene unfolded outside a local business complex where the accused, 18-year-old Larry Allen Baldwin Jr., was discovered trying to render first aid to one of the victims upon police arrival. Despite prompt intervention by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, both victims, 19-year-old Rubisnney Giraldo-Mina and 41-year-old Larry Allen Baldwin Sr., succumbed to their injuries. Investigators later determined the shooting occurred during a verbal altercation, leading to quickly arrest Baldwin Jr. on two counts of second-degree murder.
