A teenage boy is recovering after being injured in a shooting at a Jacksonville house party; the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the incident. According to News 4 Jax, the shooting took place on Saturday night just after 9 p.m. on the 1400 block of Rensselaer Avenue, where officers found the victim with non-life-threatening injuries to his leg and arm.
The victim, described as an adult teen and discovered during a response to gunfire reports, was transported to a local hospital for treatment, during the festivities of a house party someone fired several shots this information was provided by First Coast News. Authorities have not released a description of the suspect nor the possible motive behind the shooting; nevertheless, the incident is being treated as isolated with no ongoing threat to the public.
Detectives from both the JSO’s Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit and the Crime Scene Unit are actively engaging in the investigation, which includes canvassing the neighborhood, conducting interviews with witnesses, and reviewing surveillance footage.
