Kidnapped child rescued by good Samaritan in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is thanking a good Samaritan who rescued a kidnapped child in Florida last month.

On June 27, officers responded to a call that a young boy had been grabbed off the street. The 9-year-old was selling water bottles when a woman, 22-year-old Mikaya Williams, tried to lure him into her car.

After he refused, Williams pulled him into the car and drove off. JSO said a family friend of the victim watched the scene unfold and quickly followed. When the vehicle stopped, the good Samaritan was able to remove the child from the car and block the suspect from leaving.
