JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a forecast for North Florida and Southeast Georgia, predicting strong thunderstorms on Friday, July 11, 2025.
According to NWS Jacksonville, strong thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are expected this afternoon and evening along coastal Northeast Florida and most of Southeast Georgia.
Stronger storms along the I-95 and US 301 corridors will be capable of producing:
- Gusty winds capable of impacting structures and trees.
- Heavy rainfall, which may lead to localized flooding, mainly in urban areas.
North Florida and Southeast Georgia areas at risk for strong thunderstorms include coastal regions, with specific cities in the shaded area such as:
- Alma
- Waycross
- Homerville
- Woodbine
- Jacksonville
- Jacksonville Beach
- St. Augustine
- Palatka
