NASSAU COUNTY, FL – State Attorney Melissa Nelson announced that a Nassau County jury has found Dominic Alan Dimaio guilty of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Controlled Substance Paraphernalia. Dimaio now faces up to 30 years in Florida State Prison if classified as a Habitual Felony Offender.
The charges stem from a December 22, 2024, traffic stop on U.S. Highway 1 at Ewing Park Road. A Nassau County deputy stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation and became concerned after noticing that the three occupants, including Dimaio who was driving, were acting abnormally.
When asked to exit the vehicle, Dimaio initially refused. The deputy unlocked the car and opened the door, after which Dimaio stepped out. When asked if he had any weapons, Dimaio stated he was unsure what was in his pockets. A pat down revealed a knife, a pipe containing drugs, gun solvent, and a pistol light…
