Jacksonville Heatwave, NWS Issues Advisory for Extreme Heat, Caution Urged in Northeast FL and SE GA

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a heat advisory for today, cautioning residents of northeast and northern Florida and southeast Georgia about the potential for extreme heat conditions; with the advisory running from 11 AM to 6 PM EDT, locals are advised to brace for heat index values that may reach up to 110, as specified in their latest update. NWS Jacksonville has emphasized the risks associated with the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity, which could lead to heat illnesses.
