100 MPH & No License: Jacksonville Man’s Wild Ride Ends In Polk County Jail

Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrests driver for dangerous excessive speeding and multiple violations

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Jacksonville man with a significant history of traffic violations was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, July 30th, after being caught driving 100 mph on I-4.

Samuel Chiagoziem Opara, 25, was pulled over at approximately 1:35 PM after a PCSO deputy clocked his 2014 Ford Focus traveling 30 mph over the posted 70 mph speed limit. A subsequent investigation revealed Opara was driving with a suspended license, in an unregistered vehicle, and without proof of insurance.

Opara was taken into custody and booked into the Polk County Jail. He faces charges of:

  • Dangerous Excessive Speeding
  • Driving While License Suspended/Revoked (DWLSR)
  • Driving an Unregistered Vehicle
  • Failure to Carry Insurance

According to records, Opara has a lengthy driving history across Florida, including twelve previous citations. Four of these were for speeding, with one notable incident in 2022 where he was cited for driving 107 mph in a 70 mph zone in Flagler County…
