Woman Pleads Guilty to Murdering Girlfriend in Jacksonville, Florida

A Jacksonville woman has been sentenced to 30 years in state prison after pleading guilty to the murder of her girlfriend. Shannon McCarthy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and written threats to kill or do bodily injury in the 2023 death of Heather Sheppard.

The sentence was handed down by the Honorable Meredith Charbula as part of a negotiated plea agreement.
