High-Speed Chase Ends in Jacksonville With Woman in Custody After PIT Maneuver

Jacksonville, FL – A woman in her 30s is in custody after leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase exceeding 100 miles per hour that began in St. Johns County and ended in Jacksonville near the Trout River Bridge.

The pursuit started around 2:30 p.m. on August 4, 2025, when St. Johns County deputies attempted a traffic stop for speeding and reckless driving. The suspect reportedly tried to force deputies off the road and was seen holding a hammer out the vehicle’s window. The Florida Highway Patrol joined the pursuit and later requested assistance from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office as the suspect crossed into Duval County.

The chase continued northbound on I-95, through Jacksonville’s Southside and downtown areas. During the pursuit, the woman attempted to ram law enforcement vehicles and collided with a civilian car on the Fuller Warren Bridge. Officers stopped to check on the civilian driver, who was uninjured…
