A 14-year-old boy in Florida is behind bars for allegedly gunning down his parents and then walking over a mile to a church — where he called 911 and said, “Pray for me” — in the middle of the night, cops say.
Trevor Lee, of Clay County, is charged with two counts of second-degree murder for the shooting deaths of his mother, Brandi Smith, 45, and father, David Lee, 44, early Monday at their home in Middleburg, according to a police press release.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says Lee called 911 from Cross Pointe Church on Fleming Island at around 3:48 a.m. after walking about 1.4 miles to get there, Jacksonville news station WJXT reported.
