After more than 10 years, this Northside Park has a pool the community can enjoy. Neighbors from Carvill Park, a neighborhood established in 1945, fought to prevent the pool from being demolished by the city. They worked with Parks and Recreation officials to repair the pool, the bathrooms, and install new landscaping. Now the pool is open Monday through Friday 1 pm to 7 pm, Saturday 11 am to 6 pm, and Sunday 2 pm to 6 pm. Members of the Moncrief Springs Community Association, Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, and Northside Pride came together for a neighborhood pool party Saturday.
