Jacksonville nonprofit seeking donations for students in need

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Tuesday night, dozens of First Coast News viewers reached out to help after we aired the story of a grandmother of a Jean Ribault Middle School student said she couldn’t afford the required shirts with embroidered school logos on them, which she said led the school to hold him out of class.

The family now says the student will get new uniforms this week, thanks to the generosity of the community. Now, their story is highlighting the growing need for school uniforms as more schools require them, and some families struggle to afford them.
