In a recent turn of events, Jacksonville authorities have made headway in a hit-and-run case that resulted in a woman’s death. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), their investigation led to the arrest of a suspect earlier this month.
The incident, which occurred on July 21, unfolded around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Wainwright Circle near Edgewood Avenue where a Black female was struck by a car while crossing the street. The driver failed to stop, leaving the victim to die at the scene. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has been diligent in its pursuit of the perpetrator, using resources from their Homicide, Traffic Homicide, SWAT, and Crime Scene Units to track down the suspected driver, identified as 42-year-old Durrell Bradley. Bradley is currently being held in the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility, facing a felony charge for his alleged role in the deadly crash.
While the suspect is in custody, a critical piece of the tragedy remains unsolved – the victim’s identity.
