Jacksonville Man Charged with Manslaughter in Overdose Death as Sheriff’s Office Notes Progress in Battle Against Opioids

In its effort to address opioid-related deaths, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a man charged with manslaughter in connection with an overdose death earlier this year. A post on the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office official Facebook page stated that 42-year-old Jacob Johnson was taken into custody following an investigation that began in February, when detectives responded to the scene of an overdose death.
