MOSH temporarily closes to undergo massive transformation, set to break ground in 2026

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Museum of Science and History (MOSH) has temporarily closed its doors as it prepares for a massive transformation and relocation project.

The museum, which has inspired generations of Jacksonville residents, will remain closed until 2028 when it reopens in a dramatically expanded facility on the Northbank.

MOSH’s history spans more than eight decades, beginning as the Jacksonville Children’s Museum in 1941. The institution evolved over time, becoming the Museum of Arts & Sciences in 1977 before adopting its current name in 1988…
