Jacksonville ag truck inspection checkpoints to add immigration screenings, test English proficiency

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced all of the state’s agricultural truck inspection stations will now also function as immigration checkpoints.

The decision follows an August 12 crash on Florida’s Turnpike where a semi-truck driver, later determined to be in the U.S. illegally, caused a collision that killed three people.
