A man stopped in downtown Jacksonville to give someone money. He claims he was shot after refusing to give more: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man was shot in downtown Jacksonville on Tuesday night after he stopped to give someone money, was asked to give more, and was shot when he refused.

JSO said they received a call around 3 p.m. about shots being fired near Main Street.

When officers arrived, they were unable to locate a scene or a victim. They say they later became aware of a shooting victim who was a walk-in at a nearby hospital, suffering from gunshot wounds to his left hand and chest…
