As National Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is taking the opportunity to celebrate and recognize the vital contributions of Hispanic members within their ranks. The department began the month-long celebration by featuring Detective Anahi “Ani” Ruiz, a Mexican-American homicide detective whose bilingual abilities have made a significant impact in the community and the city’s law enforcement efforts.
