US Department of Labor cites Jacksonville roofing company with 10 violations, proposes they pay over $700K

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has cited a Jacksonville roofing company with 10 safety violations for “willfully exposing workers to fall hazards” by not requiring them to wear fall protection while working at least six feet above a lower level, the department announced Monday.

On March 18, 2025, DOL said its Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) initiated an investigation into Elo Restoration LLC, operating as Elo Roofing, at one of their worksites.

Two weeks later, DOL said OSHA initiated a separate investigation at an Elo Roofing worksite in St. Johns after learning that a worker suffered injuries and was hospitalized after falling through a roof while removing skylight fixtures…
