Missing Jacksonville Woman Found Alive in St. Lucie County Woods Days After Car Crash

The search for a missing Jacksonville woman, Jennifer Fisher, 53, concluded today when she was found in the woods of St. Lucie County, having disappeared after her car was found crashed into a canal days prior. Early in the morning, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) responded to calls concerning a woman, believed to be Fisher, spotted lying in a ditch, barely clothed.

According to CBS12, Fisher was identified as the woman found and is also the registered owner of the white Acura MDX discovered in the canal earlier in the week. Having reportedly crashed her car near Indrio Rd. and Johnston Rd. on Tuesday, Fisher allegedly walked into the woods, explaining to deputies who found her that her intention was to stay there for a number of days.

Before Fisher was found, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office had initiated a rigorous search, deploying various units including aviation, drones, dive teams, and K-9 but came up empty-handed. As reported by WPBF, Fisher had been last seen with a teal-colored E-Bike attached to her vehicle, which has not been found. The uncertainty of Fisher’s planned accommodation also added to the growing concern, with it being known that she intended to stay at an Airbnb for a couple of nights, but the specific location of which remained undisclosed…
