Homes, busy streets and gas stations: Jacksonville sees troubling surge in shootings over past three days

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville has seen a troubling series of shootings over the past three days, with incidents occurring at homes, on busy streets, and even outside a gas station.

The first shooting happened Friday night on Jasper Avenue, where a man in his 30s was found shot. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the victim and the suspect lived together and had an argument that escalated to gunfire. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The following day, another man was shot in the foot during a domestic dispute, also suffering non-life-threatening injuries…
