The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has welcomed its newest batch of corrections officers, as announced in a recent social media post. The graduates, who make up Corrections Class 02-25, have completed their rigorous training at the Academy and are ready to take on their roles within the community’s Department of Corrections.
According to the JSO, getting through the Academy involves more than just hitting the books. Recruits must face physical and mental tests including the TASER and the O.C. spray, experiences along with intensive workouts that prepare them for the stress and challenges of their new careers. “Our recruits have to face the TASER, O.C. spray, and other challenges, on top of the hours spent working out and in the classroom,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office statement detailed.
