In a late-night update that may have brought collective sighs of relief, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced the safe location of Thomas Carter, a 72-year-old man with dementia who had been missing since Saturday evening. The office had issued an earlier alert for the local community to aid in finding Mr. Carter, who was last seen on Parental Home Road near Beach Boulevard.
Details provided in the initial search alert described Mr. Carter as 5’10” tall, weighing 145 pounds, with blue eyes and salt & pepper colored hair and beard.
