LAKE BUTLER, Fla. (WFLA) — Dozens of dogs and puppies were rescued Wednesday as a part of a multi-agency dogfighting investigation in the north-central part of Florida.
Law enforcement officers served search warrants on three properties in Clay and Union counties beginning early Wednesday morning, according to Humane World for Animals, a nonprofit that assisted in the rescue.
Officials said they found “numerous dogs who were covered in scars” on each of the properties. Many of the dogs had fresh injuries and were underweight, with the nonprofit confirming that the animals’ scars were consistent with dogfighting…
