Walmart Plans 34 Florida Store Remodels, Four New Locations Opening Early 2026

Walmart will transform 34 stores across Florida and launch four brand-new sites in early 2026. This push is part of what the company calls its “Store of the Future” concept. Back in April, the retail powerhouse said those 34 buildings would start getting their makeovers this year.

On Dec. 8, 2025, officials told USA Today that new locations will open in Apollo Beach, Jacksonville, Ocala, and The Villages. Apollo Beach will open at 5551 N. U.S. 41 in Hillsborough County on Jan. 14, 2026.

The Villages will see a massive 200,000-square-foot Supercenter at 1115 Waxman Drive sometime in early 2026. Jacksonville’s store will be located in OakLeaf Plantation, tucked into the southwest corner where the First Coast Expressway meets Oakleaf Plantation Parkway. Ocala will get a Neighborhood Market taking over a closed Winn-Dixie at Maricamp Road and Southeast 36th Avenue…
