Outrage over dog found shot, tied to Jacksonville tree: ‘They deserve to sit in a jail cell and rot’

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) is trying to identify a suspect after a young blue and white pit bull terrier was found shot three times and tied to a tree near a pond in the Lakewood neighborhood, south of San Marco.

ACPS said it received a call from a concerned neighbor less than a week ago, who was unsure if the dog was alive or dead.

An officer arrived at the area off Gila Lane to find the dog deceased, secured with a retractable leash and a bright blue harness…
