Youth Crisis Center debuts new initiative for expecting, young mothers facing homelessness

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A new program is hoping to provide aid to young mothers across the First Coast.

The Youth Crisis Center (YCC) debuted The MILLS, or the Maternity Independent Living and Life Services program. YCC says they recognized an increasing number of young moms facing homelessness and decided to take action.

The program features five tiny-house duplexes on the YCC campus, providing safe housing for up to ten young adults who are either pregnant or raising a child under 21 months old…
