JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it called fisherman into action after officers were alerted to a French bulldog in distress in the Ribault River on Dec. 11.
According to body camera video from JSO, an officer spotted the dog stranded on a small island, appearing cold, wet and unable to get back on his own.
The officer waved down two nearby fishermen and asked for their help in retrieving the dog. The video shows the fishermen using their boat to reach the island and bring the dog back to shore.
Two officers brought the dog to Animal Care & Protective Services and learned that he did not have a microchip, according to JSO…
