Jacksonville police release bodycam video of officer-involved shooting during December standoff

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shared new audio and body camera video clips on Monday documenting a December incident where officers shot at a man during a domestic call-turned SWAT standoff. The suspect, Cory Sweeney, was injured but survived.

The evidence is provided in a “Critical Incident Briefing,” which the sheriff’s office provides following shootings involving officers in an effort to be transparent with the public. This briefing features the initial calls with 911, as well as video of the actual shooting, which will be reviewed in independent and internal investigations of the incident.
