Dozens of Westside families receive free groceries amid rising food costs

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Dozens of Westside families got a helping hand Saturday as a local nonprofit hosted a free food distribution at Westside High School.

The event was organized by Tamika’s School of Epicure, led by CEO and founder Tamika McKenzie, a proud Westside High alum. Organizers said the goal was to ease the financial strain many families are feeling as grocery prices continue to rise.

Families lined up to receive fresh produce, along with toys and other household items, all at no cost. Organizers said the turnout highlights just how great the need is in the community…
