Man charged with moving cocaine via JaxPort after 175-pound stash found

A Florida man is facing federal drug-trafficking charges after about 175 pounds of cocaine was found hidden in kitchen cabinets being shipped through Jacksonville’s port.

Alfredo Jose Colon Rivera, 37, was indicted in Jacksonville on Jan. 21 on charges of trafficking conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine.

Despite the charge’s wording, the shipment was about 80 kilograms (176.4 pounds), according to a criminal complaint filed in Jacksonville’s federal court…
